Gatwick parking company ran car park without planning permission

A woman has pleaded guilty to operating a Gatwick parking company on her land without planning permission.

Millie Stojanovic, of Church Lane, Burstow, ran Airport Direct using her land at Burstow as a car park.

In 2004, Ms Stojanovic was issued an enforcement notice by Tandridge District Council. The Council received further complaints in August 2010 and July 2011. In July 2011 Council Officers visited the property and discovered about 50 cars parked on the land covered by the enforcement notice.

At Redhill Magistrates' Court on December 9, Ms Stojanovic pleaded guilty to not complying with a planning enforcement notice and was fined £3,300 and ordered to pay the council’s legal costs of £680.

Gill Black, chairman of Tandridge District Council's Planning Committee, said: "This was an ongoing breach of planning regulations and Ms Stojanovic was fully aware of the enforcement notice, and the restrictions this placed on using her land for off-airport parking."

What an interesting story. I have to give the lady props for being creative. We have funny things happen sometimes where I work. I work running a Salt Lake airport shuttle and a couple of months ago we had a guy throw a magnet on the side of his car advertising cheap taxi/shuttle rides.

He would pull up and give people taxi and shuttle rides without any kind of business license. It wasn't long before he got busted!
