Concerns raised over Southend Airport parking

Residents living in Prittlewell near Southend Airport are calling for residents-only parking because of concerns that passengers flying from Southend will park in their streets the Echo reports.

Prittlewell Station is just a two-minute journey from Southend airport’s station and residents are concerned that the use of their streets for holidaymakers’ airport parking will be exacerbated by the announcement that easyJet is to start operating flights from the airport.

Paul Van Looy, ward councillor for the area, told the Echo: “People in East Street and Station Avenue have said they would like to see measures introduced because the problem is likely to get worse.

“Some residents have said they would like to see permit parking.”
