Watson’s Ayr Park celebrates 10th anniversary
Watson’s Ayr Park in Monkton celebrated its 10th anniversary on Saturday 1 October by giving five people free parking.
The company, which offers parking at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, gave the prizes to the first five people who arrived at the car park after 00:01 on Saturday morning.
Watson’s George McKie said: “We’re delighted to celebrate our tenth birthday here. If it was a wedding anniversary, we’d be expecting tin or aluminium presents - which is really appropriate as our business is looking after cars!

Anti terrorism training for AVPCA members
The new valet parking association at Gatwick (www.AVPCA.co.uk) has agreed to send their staff on anti terrorism training with local police.
The aim of the training is to add awareness of terrorist threats and increase the numbers of eyes and ears assisting local Police in their duty, whilst also building bridges of trust and friendship between the Gatwick valet parking teams and the local Police.
AVPCA members employ more than 200 staff at Gatwick, and as all member companies operate 24 hours per day the staff they employ will add a significant number of trained and knowledgeable people to the efforts already being made to ensure that Gatwick is a safe place to travel through.

Changes to Edinburgh Long Stay arrival and departure procedures
There have been some changes to the arrival and departure procedures from Edinburgh Airport Long Stay parking.
The company now uses automatic number plate recognition and the new arrival and departure procedures are as follows:
Arrival:
The car park has automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) - so customers need to make sure they give the correct car registration number when booking.
Once the machine at the barrier recognises the car number plate, it will give the customer a ticket with their number plate and booking reference printed on it. Customers should keep their ticket safe as they will need it when they leave the car park.
If the barrier doesn't lift automatically, customers should press the intercom button.
Customers then just need to park their car, making a note of which zone they're parked in and which is the nearest bus stop, and wait at the bus stop for the transfer bus.
Departure:
The transfer bus will take customers back to the car park. Customers just need to drive to the exit barrier and put their ticket in the slot - the barrier will lift. If this doesn't work, customers should press the intercom button - they should have a copy of their booking confirmation with them.
The car park also no longer has a manned kiosk, but if customers have any problems, they can press the intercom button for help.
